‘Sex and the City’ Party @Barfly, Singapore

Firstly, a million thanks to Warner Bros who invited Fash-E to the Sex and the City Party at Barfly, Clarke Quay last night. This fantabulous event is organized by L’Officiel Singapore, the official magazine for the movie. Only SIX more days to opening of SATC movie in the Singapore theatres! And, this party is a perfect time and place to create unprecedent buzz about the famous stylish quad – Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte. I am really anticipating the movie! I already know what I’m wearing to the gala premiere. LOL.

So, Lawrence and I arrived at Barfly and there were lotsa people hanging around. A gorgeous model/waiter handed me a bottle of Coke Light – ooh lala, this evening is going to be fantastic!

Lawrence and I striked a pose for Lifestyle.sg and his photographer friend who’s covering the event for L’Officiel Singapore. Oh yes, we’re trigger-happy if you ask me!

As we were walking up to Barfly, we see these! Bling Bling display of clutches and lotsa goodie bags! I likeee.

Okay, so we’re not the first people who arrived. I kept my eyes open for beautiful lookin’ and stylish people. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed to see so many of them dressed in BLACK or WHITE. Ultra-safe, but I’ve to take into account that most of them prolly came straight from work.

Lawrence and his friends from Shiny Happy People. Yes, we’re drowning ourselves silly in free flow Cosmopolitans, Flirtinis and Champagne. I’ve to say I really like the brownies and crab balls they served. Otherwise, I must be really hungry.

We can’t help but camwhore while standing around – waiting waiting waiting. I hate events that make you wait. But, the organizers had a lovely lady who sang ‘New York New York’ on stage. Cheers to my Cosmo!

Finally! The fashion show. Featuring clothing and accessories from Fendi, Chanel etc. (I can’t remember after a few drinks!). You see that glass centrepiece over there? Someone knocked it over after the fashion show. LOL… I feel for her, must be really embarassing.

Do you think the one of the left looks a little like SJP? Basically, the models strutted down the bar and spin around this centrepiece. I saw some lovely stuff but I wasn’t in the perfect position to take photos.

SJP-lookalike, hmm she’s not very pretty if you ask me. Also, not your typecast skinny model. I was very distracted by the clothing actually.

Is that Dharma? I think the short-hair model on the left looks alot like Jenna Elfman but prettier (BF said that!). Ooh, I love the Miranda reference about her. The one on the right must be a Charlotte reference.

The ladies were screaming like crazy in the front. I was wondering “Those were the same male models who served Coke Light – what’s so crazy about that?” UNTIL I saw these: MANOLO BLAHNIK shoes served in funky trays. Noticed the girls on the left looking at the shoe, not the boy. Talk about a fabulous fashion show!

Even the male models are amused by the reactions garnered from the people around them. It’s like the holy grail… you can see, but you can’t touch.

All ladies were given a Manolo Blahnik card at the entrance and three lucky ladies with the right picture and quote will each win a pair of Manolo Blahnik!! How awesome is that? I got the RIGHT SHOE but the wrong quote. Damn, I could have been a winner last night.

The girls came out to model more clothes after the Manolo Blahnik frenzy. I love the dress on the right, black multi-tiered dress with a plunging neckline. Sexyyy.

Models are not looking my way. Hey, look here beautiful! Anyway, there are nice belts as you can see here.

After a few Cosmos, I’m lookin’ a little red and tipsy. LOL. We got our goodie bags (let’s see, SATC luggage tag, SATC poster, Kenneth Cole wallet & discount vouchers, SJP fragrance ‘Lovely’, Lancome makeover voucher and May’s L’Officiel Singapore – including complimentary issues for the next 3 months). I look super silly. And, I need a nicer hair cut!

SingTel mio TV: Fashion Meets Lifestyle

For the longest time, I wondered… “what the heck is mio TV?”

It’s basically an “innovative digital pay TV service… that offers customers value and full flexibility to watch what they want, when they want”. Right now, SingTel‘s mio TV “offers a total of 47 channels from a wide range of genres as well as Singapore’s largest range of video-on-demand titles and High Definition content”. Nice. Now, Starhub Cable TV has meet its match.

Besides, it caught my attention because mio TV “will be bringing the fashionistas of Singapore a vast selection of the best fashion and style themed programmes from around the world right in the comfort of their homes” Hurrah! Finally… we’re getting more awesome channels other than Fashion TV and E! Entertainment for fashion news and celebrity scoops. So what’s in-store for us

Unfortunately, Cashmere Mafia won’t be continuing for the second season (unlike Lipstick Jungle!) but who cares? We want to see the gorgeous clothes worn by Lucy Liu and gang.

How to Look Good Naked

(Photo: The Sun)

Ooh, the title sounds ‘naked’ already! This daring TV show hosted by leading celebrity stylist, Gok Wan, with co-host, Dawn Porter as they get “to the core of women’s negative body-image by debunking the myth of perfection and helping women regain their confidence to show it off – both fully clothed and completely naked”. Available on onDemand Channel throughout April. I demand to see real naked women!
